Im back...

...the last two days have been hard core weather days.. Tornado dodging, ice fog, canyon winds and rain... Lots and lots of rain....
Brooks to Sicamous via 22x and the 1a.. Nasty day with tornado warnings (rode right under one trying to form... Scary.  Then just rain..lots of rain. Got nice for a while on the bow river valley but from banff on got nasty again. Rogers pass was particularly brutal... Toughest ride yet.
Sicamous to cache creek was ok-ish, still raining but calm till i got into the fraser canyon where the winds were howling... Hunkered down behind a heavy semi and crawled through...
Clear skys and roads to the ferry from hope to tsawassen and im on the 5ferry home
13,000 Km there and back....
Oh yea!!

Manitoba...

A beast of a day, the weather being the wild creature... From warm mild start in Kenora to thunderstorm evasion via my sisters place south of winnipeg to rain under sci-fi clouds and ending in the bright sun and hi winds.
A 12hour riding day gets me to this swanky motel...just a few miles from saskatchewan

Long time no see!

Reporting live from sunny Sault Marie...4riding days from Lunenburg via Bathurst, the Gaspe, rainy St.Lawrence river to Quebec, Pembroke via Ottawa rush hour 26degree sauna and a new front tire, nascar-esque race through Sudbury and presto.... Nothin to it!
Had an awesome visit with anna.kyle.rowan including a family dinner with both sets of grandparents and two great.grandparents. ..awesome.
Ate much lobster but the Digby scallops wrapped in bacon and grilled are epic!
Now to sleep...tackling lake superior and the ride to tunderbay bygosh myson.... Yikes its a long way!!!
Next time i ride across the country i.ll live in somewhere more senibly sized...like Monaco or Tazmania maybe.
Ciao for now... B

Lunenburg

Home of the Bluenose schooner (being restored) and a wikid bowl of lobster poutine. Much more touristy than Peggys cove, with an active working harbour and lots of cool places to stay. We took two nights in a ocean/harbour view room at the Rum Runner Inn... Very nice.
Starting to repack and regear for the return- starting off tomorrow for Bathurst New Brunswick and then over to the trans canada.
I have trimmed down considerably for the return adjusting mainly for the wind and weather. No more bags strapped on top and better fiting jacket make for a much more aerodynamic setup. That and a truly waterProof overjacket and away i go!
cross canada in 8 days??. Lets see!!!
Zoom zoom

Peggys Cove

Just cool... Some locals had said it was boring and touristy... Well there were more tourists (like us) than in all the rest of the province.. But for good reason, this place is very cool.. Massive glaciated rock formation to scramble around on and yummy hot gingerbread with lemon sauce for after. :-)

Walton Lighthouse

No longer operating - set up as interp centre with most of the lamp intact... And a super view...not much room inside though!

Shubenacadie tidal bore

A bit of a "bore" to watch as it took about an hour but hopefully the before and after catch the idea. It was a 20 foot tide this day.

Cool red sand beach at our motel.. Nice. Time for a tourist cruise to see the tidal bore and eat some lobsters!

Lockport

Crescent beach... Sand soft like talc powder~so neat to walk in.
Another perfect riding day... Off to Liverpool
